Trees Falling in the Forest
Trees Falling in the Forest examines the relationship between the media and environmental activism in Australia. It follows the stories of six activists working on three different campaigns as they go to extreme lengths to get media attention.
Ray and Marion are trying to stop logging in Victoria’s old-growth forests, Pat and Dom are planning to take over Parliament House and Ellen and Katy are walking 300 kilometres to promote solar power.
Through these powerful personal stories the film explores whether mainstream media coverage is necessary to shift public opinion and how else might activists define and achieve success.
