The “Better Life” Project explores the meaning of life, from individual to individual, culture to culture, throughout human society.
A “Better Life” is the justification for almost all of what we do, but what does it really mean? Why do we cause so much harm to the planet and each other in pursuit of a better life? Can life be better, should it be better, or should be appreciate what we already have?
What are we searching for? Is it wealth, security, status, prosperity, freedom or happiness? What do these terms mean? How do we think we can achieve them?
This project combines contributions from around the world to question why we do what we do. We hope that in the process of asking this question it will help us realise answers that may surprise us, and lead to ideas about life that might be radically different from what many of us have taken for granted.
We are currently collecting stories, photos and videos from individuals, families and communities around the world. These will be exhibited in a variety of forms in as many places as possible.
